pro- Tubes/Cylinders or even spherical enclosures minimizes standing waves inside the box.

Cons of tubes: wastes space, might roll around if it's unsecured

A box would make more efficient use of a space, and wont roll around. If it's for home audio use, you can get really creative with the design.
