Subaru Impreza Purchase Advice

Fellas I'm considering buying one of the 2010 Subaru Impreza hatchbacks that seem to be popular on the RORO market right now at a 68-75k price range.

Any pointers on service costs, reliability, availability of parts and mechanics I would appreciate. I'm no sports driver I just like the vibe of the car, coming from a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer.

I am buying one roll on roll off, its cheaper than a tiida with stronger suspension more features 4wd etc.
Maintainance will be more costly cause its a Subaru.

Which gas are you using Evo?

I bought one 2months ago. All good so far....spacious inside, good suspension, nice look.
There are some small parts u could get online thats cheaper than local market (air filters, oil filters etc).

Note: shop around for a spare key.

Yeah fellas, good recommendations thanks.

What you mean by spare key @ bullet proof? Get one from the dealer or get one made?

Mine has the push start. If you buying it new you should invest on a spare because of all the censors...and if you loss your key...well you in trouble.

^^^ Lots of guys programming push to start proximity keys locally. So have no fear.

I got a spare recently for the push start system..the dealer only had one key available and I really didn't wana take the chance with just one key.

They on par with most other cars in its class.
Test drove one already and it runs very nice. When you get behind the steering of a Subaru you don't wanna drive anything else.

Have a pal with one and no complaints. Most parts places stock basic parts and you can find various items readily available online.
There are a lot of tutorials online wrt diy servicing.

Parts are very durable from what I was told by an uncle with one. He don't pet his.
Not sure if it needs super or premium. You can probably retune for super if is anything I suppose.

Don't go putting 20" rims on it and cutting the 4 springs to come in here and talk sh!+ about the cars after.

Right nw am in between buying a d40 Navara and a Subaru. Always wanted a Subaru. Always told myself my next car must have 4 wheel disc brakes, turbo etc...sacrificed disc brakes for tray with the Navara.

Just overall, most of the parts to be changed like shocks/brakes and belts we found it cheaper and easier to get online too for the subie

What websites you using for parts?

Have one little over a year now.
1.5 manual.
0 problems with it whatsoever.

The only thing in dont like about it is the lack of temperature gauge for the engine.

Car is really fun to take corners :p

Ebay/amazon and one other that was based in miami, will find out from my uncle and post

I forgot the ones listed.

And yes, they are fun around corners. Saw a lady swing from a pothole in one and my heart skipped beats for the fear of a head on. That car managed to pull back in lane without effort.
My pal loves his impreza till death. Said he will never buy another car.

Can opt for an aftermarket alternator too. Team 2lo2flo on tuner has and they have been successfully installed in Subaru's before.

I'm a little over 6ft and I have no problem driving with passengers in the back. As some of you know, my gf got into a serious accident with hers and walked away without a scratch. I did manage to source most parts locally but some were cheaper to buy on amazon or ebay. The only thing I cant get is the airbag kit, so don't go getting into accidents with it.

Performance wise, I love it. She has some Rota replicas 17x8 on them and the ride is still good. It feels much more expensive than it actually is. I think maintenance may be cheaper than an Axio or Fielder due to it being a regular transmission whereas the Corollas have CVT, so that eliminates that added cost of changing CVT fluid, which has to be done often.

It's either this or hatchback tiida same price RORO dealer
