Hillview Carshow

Postby Yodins » February 17th, 2014, 12:01 am

Hillview having a fund raiser car show on March the 9th at the school grounds in tunapuna.

How many of you all might actually be interested in coming down with your cars? (Im not sure if they gonna charge cars to enter or anything like that. I'll post more information as I'm updated.)

its not a Sound off or car show (speed/looks/paintjob) per say but more like a car show in general where car guys can come out, coas in yuh ride, teach some young gearheads tips/tricks, get a lil exposure.

Its times like this I wish I knew Nasib username on tuner

Meanwhile all the other "prestige schools" raising real funds via fetes.
Even SAGHS having a fete on Carnival Sunday via some group called Friends of SAGHS. Hillview needs to come into the 21st century.

Hillview has achieved a lot with through that 1 Walkathon and Mayfair. Form 6 block got built, classrooms got A/C etc. If they choose not to follow the wine and jam crowd then I'm all for it.

If u want to try and promote morality and ethics every monday morning in assembly, but then you invite debauchery in the same space for the sake of the almighty dollar, wont the students then see you as a hypocrite?

Maybe even teach them to appreciate the classics and antique's, heck hopefully afterwards we'll see them at Skinner Park on April 20th.

I'll be there to support... buy a lil food have something to drink

BTW. for those who won't be participating in the car show, will there be be police/security present for those parking outside the compound????

I attended the walkathon as well with my son and bf. It was a nice event to boost school spirit, and I'm really proud of the effort made by students to make as many laps as possible.

HOWEVER..

My bf parked his car on the hill, on the football field, just 8 cars or so from the decline to the general school area, and it was broken into. We were there from 7am and when my bf went back to his car to bring it closer to where I was sitting at around 9:30am, he discovered his DVD deck, Pre-amp, Amp and Speaker missing.

If major events are being held in the compound, Better security needs to be an utmost priority.
Police offciers told us, fellas from higher up the hill come down and do these things as there seems to be nothing preventing them from coming on to the grounds.

Better than that please.. How am I to know my son is safe while at school?

For the previous car shows they had security on the hill, because it had a line of goons standing on the hill behind the savanna LOL

They really need to fence off the back or sumn tho.

Hillview is a school that is run and heavily influenced by the Presbyterian board. I don't think that Mr. Mahase is going to allow that kind of behaviour (especially with the lower school) then exactly as Bookie said you will be viewed as a hypocrite and while it may be good money-wise the ethics and morals of the school who thrives to produce gentlemen will be compromised.
.........of course if they do have one I will still patronise to help.

smee... wrote:BTW. for those who won't be participating in the car show, will there be be police/security present for those parking outside the compound????

REALLLLL police passing up and down Hillview these days. a good bit of parents at the school are actually officers so i don't think security will be an issue. Plus the school is filled with cameras now.

To be honest.. the Bikeman Police Officer that helped us first at Hillview was nice enough to come down to the Station when we went to make our report and after chatting with him he did say he passes regularly as he has a child attending Hillview.

If alyuh big boys on tuner with supras, R34s, GTRs etc an ting could come down that would be great. Yodins himself would be there in the fur. Would be nice to see allyuh in real life instead of on tuner.
