Mailed Monday and received Wednesday at the Embassy so waiting now for the next step.

Thanks for the info Dave....just was a average time you take to receive it back in hand.
You're welcome.

As it progresses, I shall update for future reference for others.

Figured it out. Was doing multiple things at once so missed it. Forgot the part where you create the profile after completing the info. Payment made via credit card. Pretty smooth

So I can give two perspectives of this Mail in Waiver and Interview.
Myself and my 3 children have never has US Visas so we decided to apply. My children are 10, 19 and 23 years old.
Demographics: I am mid 40’s, employed in a medium sized company. Decent salary, above 20k; my son is 23 years old; diploma level education ; employed and currently earns average 12k with overtime; my daughter is 19 years old and pursuing her diploma. We won our own home; each of us has our own vehicles (except my 19yr old). We have travelled to UK before.
Mail in
My 10 year old was approved for the interview waiver as my husband (common law) has a valid VISA and has traveled to the US many times. Her documents were submitted; it was approved and returned via TTPOST within 2 weeks.
Interview
Now, for myself and the older children; we had to attend an in person interview, it was on May 14; for 9:15 am. Got there early as we weren’t sure about parking; the car park near the embassy was full and so were spaces along the street; we ended up parking on Cipriani Blvd; and walked up. The officers at the lines were friendly and asked us to come back 15 mins before the appt time; so we hung around until that time. They verified the appointments, passports and DS160 Confirmations. We were allowed to enter, screened then asked to line up by reception. At reception, they saw all 3 of us together; a sticker was placed on each of our passports, we were then told to go to another window, a pleasant speaking lady scanned the passports; verified our names and took the passport photos; we were then directed to go have our fingerprints taken. An American lady took all 3 of our finger prints, we then had to sit on some chairs and wait as the lines for interview was long. The line is like an actual bank line. One of the same security officers from outside came after about 5 mins and motioned for us to join the line. The line was moving fairly quickly and yes you can hear most if the interviews taking place through the windows.
Up came our turn, all 3 of us went to the window together; we were interviewed together (thankfully). The Consular said good morning, may I have your passports, I just replied with a smile good morning, sure. While scanning the passports; she asked what the relationship between us is; I said I am the mom, and these are my children. She asked where and how long we planning to stay in the states we said 9 days, my son and I said because of work and my daughter said she has to be back for school. She then asked me what I do for work which I explained. She also asked my son what he does for work and what is salary is. She just asked my daughter what she is studying in school. Then she asked a “trick question”.. are you staying at a hotel?” I said no no we are staying at my husband’s aunt’s place” (which is what we out on all our DS 160. (If I had mistakenly said yes, she could have denied us for inaccuracy) She looked at me and smiled then asked who is travelling together (which is also on the form btw), I said the three of us; my 10 year old and my husband. After a few seconds she said “your 10 year old got her visa last week via mail in?” I said yes. After a few more seconds, she asked me to tell her what my husband does for a living which I answered. She said I am approving all your VISAS, gave a small slip of paper and that was it. No documents were looked at or requested. VISAS in hand 1 week later.
Some pointers:
1. Please dress nicely, saw some people in there dressed as though they going to the beach! I wore what I would normally wear to work, my son wore a Dockers, T-Shirt and sneakers, my daughter wore a jeans and shirt.
2. Smile and be polite, courtesy goes a long way.
3. Remember it is just a conversation verifying everything that was filled out on your DS160. Even if you had someone else assist, please memorize what they wrote consistency is key.
4. Trust that they have your information at their fingertips The consular officer was easily able to verify both my husband and 10 year olds visa.
5. Most importantly remember the interview is not so much about telling them why you must go to the states it’s about demonstrating to them why you MUST return home. This is why ties is often referred to as a reason for refusal. There are ways to demonstrate this via conversation Try not to give one word “cold” answers. The interview is the make or break.

If you need any tips on this; or have any other questions let me know.

Thanks zoom but you’ll have to get accustomed to still seeing me around. USA isn’t my preferred travel spot but I just need to keep a valid Visa always for work as well as family emergencies.

Four charged for “visa fraud” at US Embassy

Four people are facing charges for falsely claiming to be members of the TTPS when they applied for their US tourist visas.

According to the US Embassy, a 24-year-old woman was arrested at the embassy itself at Marli Street and two other suspects, a 63-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, were arrested at their homes on July 2.

The fourth accused, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested at her home on July 3.

All will be charged with providing fraudulent documentation in support of visa applications and falsely claiming to be TTPS police officers.

U.S. Ambassador Candace Bond said, “The arrests are a demonstration of the unique teamwork between the TTPS and the U.S. Embassy’s federal agents with the Diplomatic Security Service. The arrests send a message to anyone intending to falsify documents or misrepresent themselves to obtain a U.S. visa through deceit that U.S. federal agents will work alongside local law enforcement to arrest and prosecute them.

Committing fraud when applying for a U.S. visa will result in the perpetrator being permanently ineligible for a tourist visa.”

red,

The officer can ask the question in my ways.

But, when they start asking for specifics, make sure you know the answer and all of it.

the form asks for a specific address in the US so yea you need to know that address and why you are there and how long you are there for.

make sure an review your itinerary before the interview
