No that's not true.

Anybody else notice a drop in food quality since food places start back selling? I buy kfc and it was bland with too much chili powder, it didn't even taste like kfc. Wontons was tiny & salty af, royal castle was okay but kinda overfried, bbq was too dry, no salt in the rice and the potatoes in the potato salad was hard and watery. Never really had that experience in those places before but the quality tasted like everything was rushed.

^ ppl were complaining about kfc on their FB page- like d oil too new. apparently old oil does taste good.

but i guess those places weren't prepared to open back but i would expect that only the first week- not continuing into the last week

so with most businesses & govt offices opening come Monday we back to traffic on a morning & afternoon

Actually there is some truth to the old oil theory... every time you fry something the oil becomes infused with flavors that contribute to the next thing being fried. Chinese restaurants use the oil from frying chicken as a flavoring for other dishes...

From an economic stand point it makes sense to open malls yes, but cant the beaches be opened back the same way? im pretty sure youre more likely to catch a virus in an enclosed Air conditioned mall and its small stores than an open air beach.. provided that everyone maintains safe distance at the beach and dont go huddling together..

You can regulate volumes of people in the malls-you cannot easily do so on a beach???

Actually it's not based on the environment as you'd think, it's based on the activity that's going on there. For instance, you go to the mall to shop. With food courts closed, limited number of people allowed in stores and limited opening hours, people are less inclined to lime with friends at the mall right now.

It's the mixing of people we're trying to avoid.

Now with beaches, despite it being open air, you are unlikely to go with just a small group. Beach lime is always at least 2 car loads of people who come to lime, eat and drink. There will be less mask-wearing and you're in close proximity to people for at least a couple hours. Hence you'll likely catch whatever they have.

That said, office buildings are perhaps one of the riskiest areas for covid spread, but what is more essential? people be productive and work, go lime at the beach?

restaurants even though they opened up a couple weeks ago will now get back customers- remember the first week there wasn't as much ppl patronizing them as expected? im guessing most of their customers were ppl working in business places that were shutdown so now that everywhere open up it would be back to normal- assuming d kfc oil get a lil used by now

Opening back-up and trying to return to normalcy is certainly going to be easier said than done.
The blows citizens and our economy have sustained are real and suffice to say 2020 has been blown away.
The real issue now is about recovery and mitigation of further losses.
Cash flow expectations must now factor in lower gross revenues and serious equity injections to reboot commercial activity.
Individual citizens are going to confront unemployment and reduce wages from under-employment and for those with savings, now is the time this comes into play.
The funny thing about the post shut-down period is that the state may come out with good marks for managing this actual infectious illness but may be faced with the horror of keeping the people reassured and happy that the way forward is in good hands.
This latter imperative if not addressed aggressively could see T&T going into a real tail-spin by Sept-Oct.
I had hoped that the Road-Map committee would have had a preliminary release which could have informed some sense of their thinking and identified priorities.
We got to start looking into the murky future with a view to illuminating a path forward.

Yesterday at Passport office in Chaguanas was a issue that struck me.
A simple problem to solve especially when one considers babies and older folk with the weather either hot like fire or rain about to fall.
Opening up for business must be characterized by 'best-efforts' to assist customers/clients to cope with physical challenges.

Minister of National Security the Hon Stuart Young announced that over the next seven days, approximately 600 -1000 people are expected to return to Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Young said 300-400 Trinidad and Tobago students from Barbados and Jamaica to return on June 13th. They will be quarantined at UWI St. Augustine campus in Debe.

Arrangements are being made to quarantine hundreds of returning cruise ship employees on a Royal Caribbean vessel which will dock in local waters. Trinidad and Tobago public health officials will supervise this exercise.

Wood brook residents considering taking legal action to keep the bars and places along the avenue closed , imagine how quiet and peaceful it’s been for them, no noise, no noise and physical pollution, I don’t blame them one bit.
I find all the bars should be forced to relocate now...
Stand behind the residents and make Woodbrook a peaceful neighbor hood again ...
