The Ministry of Works and Transport has announced that given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operations of the Transport Division’s Licensing Offices, on March 31, 2021 the Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan signed orders which further extended:

(1) the validity of the driver’s permits, taxi driver licences, badges, certificates or other documents issued by the Licensing Division which would otherwise have been due to expire on or before September 30, 2021 are now deemed to be valid up to October 01, 2021; and

(2) the timeframe for the completion of any transfer of vehicle registration – that is, any transfer of vehicle registration required to be completed on or before September 30, 2021 may be completed on or before October 01, 2021.

A statement by the Ministry said that members of the general public should pay particular attention to the dates identified above.

Transfers are very easy now. Appt system and must say not as painful as before. Stick to appt and walk with all the new documents they are requesting believe just a bank statements or utility bill for the purchaser and all quite easy. New CC in a few days time.

A LO in Ptown office told me it will be extended to end of the year... Waiting to see how accurate his info is.

It will continue to be extended due to the pandemic restrictions they don't want ppl rushing the offices like before, tbh I think they should keep the appointment system
