I guessing it's you who I gave the results to on FBSuperMan9999 wrote:Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:bgh wrote:Anyone who ordered a kit received theirs as yet?

Hi is it possible for you to do some latency test via this website when you get your star link setup?
https://testmy.net/latency?addr=fl
^ The reason for this website is it does a continuous graph based test on jitter and latency something that you simply cannot get an accurate reading on anyother app say speedtest.net or anywhere else.
I am contemplating taking acquiring star link based on jitter and latency test across continents, granted the laser function has not yet been enabled by Elon Musk which will bypass traditional backbone routing and should me much quicker than fiber since data will be transmitted 40% faster in a vacuum ie the speed of light compared to fiber which is much slower.

Holy Moly ... Didn't realize that Starlink has already blanketed the entire freakin sky with sats.
Wonder what are the effects on the biosphere of the earth with all that EMF hitting us from above
Only time will tell.
Yeah, plenty ppl would have gotten it by now, I posted my tests aboveredmanjp wrote:anyone got their stuff yet?

You have to set the address when ordering.maj. tom wrote:Yes that's right. Portability within a country zone costs an extra $25 USD per month. That was announced since 2022 https://www.cnbc.com/2022/05/05/spacex-adds-25-portability-monthly-fee-for-starlink-service.html
My guess is that for countries that don't have standard registered address locations like USA/CAN/EU/UK/AUS etc. would activate and lock its GPS geographic location the first time it is set up through the app. So unless the user already set an exact location during the pre-registration period, I hope that they first power on the receiver unit at the intended location.
Starlink satellites are scheduled to send internet down to all users within a designated area on the ground. This designated area is referred to as a cell.
Your Starlink is assigned to a single cell. If you move your Starlink outside of its assigned cell, a satellite will not be scheduled to serve your Starlink and you will not receive internet. This is constrained by geometry and is not arbitrary geofencing.

maj. tom wrote:Ok from what I reading, the Starlink network works in Cell areas. Each cell is 15 miles (24km) radius.
Outside a cell, the base unit won't connect with the uplink sats because they want to keep a consistent service for the number of users per satellite area. If more users are subscribed to a cell, they'll send up more satellites to cover the area.Starlink satellites are scheduled to send internet down to all users within a designated area on the ground. So you cant just take it anywhere? Will only work at the shipped address???
How lame.

Received several failed attempts.
However, with the same CC, I ordered a 75foot cable and it should be here tomorrow.
Let's see if customs holds it for 2 weeks.
Same issue even after bringing the unit online.ruff neck chicken wrote:bgh wrote:Has anyone had issues paying this month's subscription?

Monthly subscription payments are done with CC online in USD alone or are there other options?
Unfortunately, one sarlink support person suggests I use a USD card. I tried two, and both failed.bgh wrote:Same issue even after bringing the unit online.ruff neck chicken wrote:bgh wrote:Has anyone had issues paying this month's subscription?

Spoke to RBL, and they have not seen any subscription payments hitting the card or visa system. They did see the kit and accessories transactions and processed them.
They also reset the fraud alert on my card, and still, it failed to process the payment.
Message starlink via the App and just waiting for a response now.
The last set of accessories was delivered within a few days.
The system is working as intended, great speeds as well.
