Would take a look around Pricesmart and local importers.

it comes with a duckfoot stand which imo is a big deal since it allows more flexible placement
C2 is a nice tv, bought locally or shipped in?
Trying to gauge an estimate for skybox
Pricesmart has the 65 inch Samsung S90 for 17k. It's like$1600 on Amazon so I guess comparable if you were to bring in yourself. The rtings reviews are great too. I like Sony but Sony as a brand here is basically deadmero wrote:mero wrote:85" would be real Bess eh but I think that's overkill for the room rn and budget. So update on TV hunt. After looking at local retailers and the checking out rtings and reddit 4k sub on many of the models, came to the conclusion that we have is real sheit tvs and the ones I want are over 20k, so now looking to definetly import one now.
Superbowl coming up so gonna look for a lil sale this week. Biggest issue could be warranty and returns
Narrowed it down to the these, either 65" or 75" :
Sony X90L 75" - $1495 Usd
Lg c2/C3 OLED- 65" for $1436/ $1696 Usd
TCL QM8 mini LED - 65 & 75" @ $1198 and $1698
Hisense flagship UH8 75" @ $1598

this is a good option tbh. samsung is a crappy brand, but it is oled and locally available.
would have been better if it was bigger too
Sony x90 really has been rated the best mid tier overall TV 2023, so I'm very partial to it as well.Dave wrote:Go big or go home. Bring something you can't get here.

WEIGHT: 44 PCS: 1
WHITE GLOVE 245.00 (this is where they check the TV in Miami and double-box)
FREIGHT 1031.83
+duty/vat.
i doh take insurance because i doh believe in financial services as a concept
Total skybox cost was like $5k
yes there is no warranty and if it break is mine, but the TV does look real good and have no problems as far
(also add about $3k for the colorimeter. i doh watch uncalibrated TV, people skin not suppose to be blue or purple)
I've only ever had Sony's.mero wrote:Sony x90 really has been rated the best mid tier overall TV 2023, so I'm very partial to it as well.Dave wrote:Go big or go home. Bring something you can't get here.

msg1 wrote:My Samsung unit just died (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0076 ... UTF8&psc=1). Seems to be an issue with the motherboard according to the tech. It served me well for 12 years or so,...all speakers are still good.
The unit is discontinued and I am trying to come up with a new alternative (perhaps new system). Any suggestions for a comparable system?

How about this: https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Referenc ... 0CS5X5Z1C/
What I would really like to ensure is that I replace it with a similar output wattage...and I would also have to find a 4k/BR player.
msg1 wrote:Who sells Klipsch locally? Would love to demo a similar setup before deciding....and well if it is reasonably priced just get it here.
Dlp chips failure most times not worth the time to get fixed... Will get worst over time.. Better to get a new projector tbhed360123 wrote:I have one of those portable DLP projectors from LG that developing some white spots in the image.
