With these kinds of prices, I'm not surprised that they did. For 750 TTD per night you can get a king suite for two at Hilton Barra (5 Stars) with a free buffet breakfast and still have change left over. I looked at hotel prices recently because I was trying to help out a cousin from Texas book something and I was left scratching my head at how hotels in Trinidad command those sorts of prices.

I see Tripadvisor and Google list the Hyatt as a five star. The prices start at around 200 USD a night for standard rooms with a Booking L3 Discount. I suppose it's for the folks who won't bat an eye at those prices.

There aren't that much high end hotels here so they could set their price.

It's not like bigger cities where u cud walk down a street and choose from 10 good hotels

Police have been ordered to release the 66-year-old father and 62-year-old mother of Hannah Mathura, whose body was found buried at Butu Road, South Valsayn.

The instruction was handed down to the officers by Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard this afternoon.

Both parents were arrested last Friday, three days after the 18-year-old woman’s body was found in a shallow grave at the family’s home. It is believed that she was buried there seven years ago. An autopsy showed that she was shot in the head.

The DPP confirms to CNC3 News that officers need to gather more evidence on the matter.

Finding a body in your yard isn't good enough evidence? I say interrogate everyone in that house until someone spills the beans

This whole thing sus from day 1

Child buried in shallow grave
Reports made by a house member
Reports of abuse from neighbours
Police fail to publish pics of both arrested parents, but when them "good good boiz" have a lil knife and some weed, they making video of them in the station and their pics all over FB
Accused hiding in a next house undetected for 2 days
No evidence for a charge....like a dead body of a child with a supposed gunshot to head isnt enough?

I feel somebody high up pulling some strings

Heard it on the news, the only thing they can be charged with is improper disposal of the body.

What sort of evidence is needed to prove a murder? The body, DNA, murder weapon, video evidence, confession, witnesses, other circumstantial evidence..... besides the possibility of witnesses, we're depending on the ttps to deliver on the rest, so now we can see why they were released.

The kids won't talk against their father/abuser/brainwasher/cult leader. Think about the kind of conditioning since birth dem going through. They could just say they find Hanna dead juss so and never call the police and then and they bury they body improperly. No evidence. The gunshot wound? They find it so. No evidence of a gun. Nobody talking.

And that's it. TT Police do they 10 days wuk. Story done. Let's move on nothing to see here. Trinidad life.

Correct, on to the next bacchanal...do you pay property tax in Trinidad on a timeshare in the US?

Sus is a G-Rated description of this case .Seems like the story may come out some years after the parents and a lot of other officials pass away peacefully in their sleep from old age.

Obviously it's easier to fool trinis than to explain to them they've been fooled.

This thread is proof.

So why not charge them with that then? Unless the police trying to adopt the 'play ded to ketch corbeau alive' tactic? (which in my fair opinion at this time is a hefty gamble).

Clearly there is a lot the public is not being told.
We don’t have all the details

You say this and then I read the following:

The Valsayn “House of Horrors” case has taken a potentially bizarre twist as there is now some doubt about whether it was Hannah Mathura’s body that was found last week.

If you were on a jury and one of the children testify that they know it's father but they didn't exactly see for themselves, would you say guilty or not guilty. I think the state could take this to trial and win, and no judge would give him bail either

The "children" are adults. They can be interviewed by the press eventually.
Just seems that the police half assing as usual and not doing any proper investigation.

Alot of dysfunctional families out there.

There is quite a bit of a perception from the public that the rest of the family WANT to come forward and they are so distraught from physical/mental abuse.

Ever thought that they might ALL be overly comfortable with a dead body being buried in the backyard that they were possibly apart of? Maybe they are ALL upset with the squealer and they ALL wanted their secret kept untold?

If allyuh feel that it’s just the parent/s are monsters, then think again.

Allyuh have to look at all sides of the coin.

It’s highly intelligent ppl allyuh dealing with.
