I'm have the same issue payment failed with credit card and paypal. Digicel payment went through fine. Bmobile must be fixing something. They could of at least send a warning or notice.

same thing for the 4th time at https://bmobiletopup.com:

Re: The TSTT / Bmobile discussion thread

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » July 16th, 2024, 2:23 pm

Warning to anyone travelling to Panama or Mexico with a post paid bmobile account. Those countries are in Zone 4 and are not included in the bmobile roaming plan. I wish someone at bmobile told me this before I travelled.

https://bmobile.co.tt/mobile/internatio ... ing-rates/
Apparently the roaming rate in Panama is TT$106.31 incl. VAT per MB.

I called bmobile before travelling to ensure that roaming was turned on and they confirmed, but did not mention anything about the rates. I found out later on about the astronomical rate.
I have 5GB roaming on my plan but it seems that Zone 4 is not included in that.

I was in transit in Panama and my phone did not connect. It just showed "No Service". I had to buy a data eSIM in the airport. But apparently in trying to connect it used 66.16MB and I was charged TT$6,105.61 when I got back on my next bill.

If I was on a pre-paid account it would have just used up all the funds on the phone and stopped, maybe lose a few hundred dollars, but since it's post paid it just kept going, even though it said "No Service".

I tried taking it up with bmobile and after almost a year later I'm told that they were charged by the Panama carrier and that's the rate. So I have to pay it.

Just a warning to anyone travelling with their post paid phone to Panama or Mexico.

it was on but the phone said No Service until I put in the eSIM I bought there

I switched to manual and tried every carrier - all said no service

Screenshot 2024-07-16 at 4.30.08 PM.png

a whole 66MB - my plan has 5GB roaming but that zone is not on bmobile's bundle roaming list - I found out that after the fact.

The Panama carrier not taking the hit, neither is bmobile - so hard lucks for me.

While I was in the airport I used the eSIM to contact my wife on whatsapp to ask her to contact bmobile tech support to find out why the phone wasn't connecting and the tech was trying to figure it out. There is a log of her number calling 824-8788 on that morning multiple times. The CSR told her to tell me to try turning off the phone and turn it back on to see if it connected, remove the SIM card etc - none of that worked. At no point in time the CSR I spoke to before I left to find out if roaming was turned on nor the rep my wife spoke to said anything about Zone 4 and the cost and bmobile not supporting it on the 5GB free roaming plan.

u should never assume any roaming plan covers u everywhere- most covers US, UK, etc. but always find out about other countries BEFORE u leave. if i not sure i would leave roaming off.

im also wondering if those high roaming rates are on a 2G network- the per unit cost supposed to go down with newer generation networks.

in a logical and well-governed country
the regulatory agency would enforce a hard limit
to the possible debt accruable under a post-paid plan
maybe a multiple of a regular billing cycle, or something reasonable
so ppl don't get surprises like that

but nah, we going hard with regulatory capture
telecoms could do what they want without any regulation
no limit to how much they could bill you
literally no limit
they could bill you tens of thousands of dollars
with no regulation
from the regulating body

regulating body suppose to work for the public interest
but it clear who it is they working for
and we too busy fighting indian/african to do anything about it

Does bmobile not have a credit limit on postpaid like Digicel cause that should've stopped your account from racking up so much money

looks like they bringing back some cheaper plans

so apparently they giving a discount if u take 3 or 6 months for the 2GB per month plan so i took a 6 months which is $140/mth.

after i did that now i seeing they have cheaper plans with the new Build My Plan (BMP) options

https://bmobile.co.tt/mobile/#1728403913501-5-3

cud get a 2GB for a month for $50 or 2GB & 60 mins for $65

Those prices real good, I guess bmobile realizes that most people these days talk over internet wifi using watsapp rather than using the mobile networks hence these cheap plans since the demand is likely low in this day and age.

u can set a limit on most phones- u get 2gb so just set 2gb as the limit and data will stop if u reach that- u can even set a warning at a lower level like 1.5gb.

the phone balance I normally carry is like $40.

balance insufficient -> plan can't renew -> pay per megabyte rates

whole account balance gets wiped out after 24mb of data

i does just leave data off entirely

my dad does do that too- but maybe with these new cheap plans u can choose 1 so that doesn't happen. how much do u usually spend per month? if it's more than the cheapest plan might as well take that plan

All bmobile has to do is disable PAYG like Digicel and make it opt in only. Maybe then out credit won't run out randomly even with data off. Until then I only top up my bmobile number when it's close to expiry.

Im sure they know this but why do it when you can get someone to rundown their funds unsuspecting and force them to top up again. That txt message they send and all is not reliable. You will get it after yuh funds done so you have to be really be on top of it to not get ketch.

For those of you (Bmobile users) who would like to turn off data when your prepaid plan is up to prevent your credit being used up with PAYG data, here's a method that I've tested and seems to work. I say "seems to work" as I've tested it just twice to verify that mobile data is turned off when I want.
I set up an automated routine in my phone to turn off mobile data on a specific worded notification. Then I set an event in my Calendar app to trigger that specific notification when I want the data connection to be turned off.
My phone has a built in "Routines" feature but if your phone does not, maybe you can install an app that performs a similar function? I did a quick search online and saw "Tasker" being mentioned. It's a paid app (US $3.20) but maybe there's a free app that does similar?

instead of topping up the phone with money just buy a plan online with https://www.bmobiletopup.com and choose data plan instead of topup- that way u dont keep money on the phone which can be wiped out.

anybody else having issues activating imessage/facetime with bmobile? in settings > phone > my number…it’s blank for some reason and as a result it’s not even showing up under “send and receive” for imessage, any suggestions? called bmobile and there’re clueless already, all they did was “update” my account which didn’t do sheit, and apple said everything’s fine on there end so they sent me back to bmobile

Unlock the power of Voice Over LTE exclusively on bmobile.
Enjoy HD voice quality, the freedom to make calls on compatible LTE networks worldwide, the ability to use LTE Data and Voice Calls at the same time and more. All you need is a Voice Over LTE compatible handset that works with an eSIM or iSIM and a bmobile Data plan activated.
Experience it on bmobile.

Has anyone been able to get VoLTE working locally? It's still falling back to 3G for calls for me.

Seems like it's only available with isim or e-sim. What type of sim you have.

iSIM is your normal SIM Card lol. Eveyone who got a new SIM from like 2016 when they launched LTE should have an iSIM.

On iPhone the only way to know is to make a call with Data on and see if it remains on LTE or if it drops back to 3G.

VoLTE isn't working for me either, VoLTE turned on in Cellular settings.

Strange that they would launch something that doesn't work.
